About Our Tarot Cards Readings
The best known Tarot deck is the Rider-Waite-Smith deck. . There are hundreds of others, but the images of the RWS Tarot are the ones which are instantly recognizable. The cards were originally published in 1910 by the publisher William Rider & Son of London. The following year, a small guide by A.E. Waite entitled The Key to the Tarot was bundled with the cards, providing an overview of the traditions and history behind the cards, criticism of various interpretations, and extensive descriptions of their symbols.
This software uses the first 22 cards of the deck, known as the Major Arcana or Trumps. The Major Arcana cards represent a path to spiritual self-awareness and depict the various stages that are encountered in the search for greater meaning and understanding. These cards typically highlight the influences and energies that are at play and that have a long-lasting impact on your life journey. Accordingly, the Major Arcana represent meaningful life lessons and offer deep insight from the collective unconscious .
Using only the Major Arcana cards in a three card spread tarot reading, as we do in this software, is incredibly powerful and insightful, particularly when you are in search of answers that relate to relationships, work, spirituality and personal growth.
When 'Negative' Cards Appear
When the Death or Devil card appears, don't panic. Remember: the language of the Tarot is symbolic. In the vast majority of cases, the Death or Devil card should be read as a metaphor, not as a warning of impending doom! Use common sense, and let context be your guide. It along with the devil card can be excluded from your shuffle.
